When a community gathers together and shares their stories, a lot of healing can happen.
I created this space to give gay and queer men a safe place to explore their identity...and hopefully gain some therapeutic insight. Having always enjoyed reading and writing myself, the idea for a group started as a book club on Twitter in August 2020, intended to celebrate our own voices. Discussing authors we didn't know personally ended up an icebreaker, and after a few months, our trust grew enough to begin including our own published works for monthly selections.
Finding success in open critique, I also noticed how refreshing it was to hear other perspectives, interpretations, and ultimately, the varied digestions of similar upbringing and coming-of-age experiences. It helped me heal so much of what I never knew lay hidden in accepting my own sexuality and its implications. And after over a year, I realized I wanted to give as many men possible the same chances for camaraderie, understanding, and wholeness.
Now, I invite you to join me as I expand the tools and services offered by Boys Inside Books. Whether you follow a book club for peer dialogue or self-reflection, need professional assistance in crafting or editing your own writing, want a review of completed queer work, or have interest in private wellness coaching, I hope you can find a home here and share your life at any age.
Let's unpack the children within us in honest storytelling: the boys inside our books!
Accomplishing our goals comes much easier with help from our friends, family, and network. If you would like to make an online contribution, please click on the gift link below:
